General Manager – Land Reform
Anwhar joined SASA from the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform where he held the position of Chief Director. His experience and exposure to issues related to land reform date as far back as 1997 when he joined the Department. In 2003 he assumed the role of Senior Manager: Operations, where he provided operational support to the Provincial Land Reform Office and five district offices in the achievement of land reform deliverables. His success in delivering these strategic objectives led to his secondment to the AgriBusiness Development Agency (ADA) as Acting CEO. Anwhar’s in-depth experience in land reform is supported by an academic background that includes a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of KwaZulu Natal and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Stellenbosch. His dissertation focused on Public/Private partnerships in the Land Reform/Sugar Sector.
