Sugar Industry Pays Tribute To Late Honourable Duma Nkosi, Chairperson Of Parliament’s Portfolio Committee On Trade, Industry And Competition.
Statement by Sindi Mabaso-Koyana, Independent Chairperson of the South African Sugar Association.
The South African Sugar Association (SASA) – on behalf of the country’s sugar industry including the South African Cane Growers’ Association, the South African
Farmers Development Association and the South African Sugar Millers’ Association – is extremely saddened by the passing of the Honourable Duma Nkosi, the highly regarded and revered Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Trade, Industry and Competition.
The late Honourable Nkosi was a seasoned, principled politician, an intellectual, a champion of the proletariat and a very humble servant of the people. Death has robbed us of a political gem. As SASA, we have interacted with the late Chairperson pertaining to matters of the sugar industry, and our engagements were always constructive. He always put the interests of ordinary people first. What a profound loss. Death be not proud.
We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, Parliament, Members of Parliament, the governing party, workers and South Africa as a whole.
